Director of Curriculum

    Chattahoochee Hills Charter School is looking for the right person to join our team as our Director of Curriculum and Instruction. We are a Fulton County, Georgia public school serving students in K-8. Our mission is to inspire all children to the highest levels of academic achievement through a rigorous curriculum that integrates the wonders of the natural world. Our goal is for our students to cultivate the capacity to achieve a meaningful, healthy, flourishing life that embodies responsibility, stewardship, experiential engagement with the arts, agriculture, and the environment in informed, imaginative, and rigorous ways.

    We are seeking a Director of Curriculum for our school. The DCI will provide direction and leadership to our school administration and teachers in the work of fulfilling our mission and goal for our students.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Mentoring and coaching teachers
    • Whole-school curriculum design and planning
    • Cultivating and communicating a vision for curriculum integration in our tri-focus areas of arts, agriculture, and the environment
    • Assistance with SPED programs and IEP administration
    • Management of teacher training and professional development
    • Data collection, management, and communication
    • Review of potential teaching hires
    • Participation in committee work
    • Communication with parents

    To be considered, we require:

    • Demonstrated skills in coaching and mentorship of teachers
    • Demonstrated skills as an exemplary classroom teacher
    • The ability to lesson plan, unit plan, and vertically plan to develop a holistic, fully-integrated academic journey for students
    • Enthusiasm and/or experience in arts, agriculture, and the environment
    • An up-to-date understanding of best practices in teaching
    • Proficiency in data collection, organization, and communication
    • A “team-player” mindset
    • Outstanding communication skills
    • The ability to self-direct when needed

    We also would like to see:
    • Familiarity with Title I administration
    • Experience as an LEA 
    • Experience developing SPED programs
    • Masters degree or higher in an education field
    • Certified Teacher in the State of Georgia
    • Other education certifications
